Your dinosaur will keep running forward as you go through the levels. Tall cactus plants spaced out along the ground and flying Pterodactyls are the two kind of challenges you'll face. To leap over a cactus, use the spacebar as you get close. Your goal is to jump over the cactus without hitting them, thus timing is key. On the other side, use the down arrow key to target low-flying Pterodactyls. To make room for you to walk underneath the pterodactyl, your dinosaur will squat. You have to out-jump pterodactyls and cactus in order to stay alive for as long as you can. As you go through the game, the difficulty may rise since the game may become faster.
Depending on how far you've gone or how many obstacles you've managed to dodge, some games will calculate your score. If dinosaur game has a scoring component, you may compete with friends or challenge yourself to beat your previous score. The level ends when your prehistoric beast hits a cactus or isn't fast enough to dodge a pterodactyl bullet. An animation or notice indicating that the game is over will appear, along with your score (if shown).
