As the Manager of Content Design, you’ll be responsible for setting and driving the content vision and leading a team of Content Designers to make it happen. You’ll need a deep love of words, a passion for the design process, and the ability to inspire others because you’ll be helping to take our products to the next level with a modern, conversational voice and a strong product story.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, resource, support, and mentor a team of content designers
  • Communicate and demonstrate the value of Content Design and by defining and delivering insights that lead to business value
  • Communicate your vision to other cross-functional product teams and senior leadership
  • Work with the UX leadership team to prioritize projects and resources for the biggest impact
  • Act as thought leader on the development of new features and continuously improve what we already have today
  • Set short- and long-term career goals with each content designer on your team and provide clear, constructive feedback at regular check-ins and performance reviews
  • Encourage Content Designers to explore multiple solutions each problem
  • Conduct content reviews and provide actionable feedback
  • Engage with user research to plan and conduct studies and mentor your team on how they can collaborate with research as well
  • Make content recommendations based on user research, product analytics, and your own intuition
  • Work closely with Localization to create content that also works for international audiences
  • Advocate for accessibility and help the team write text that works for everyone
  • Deliver content design that achieves Cvent’s business strategy and solves customer problems
 What we’re looking for

  • Someone who leads with empathy, compassion, and understands the human element of management
  •  Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the “why” behind the words
  • An understanding of design thinking and how it applies to writing
  • An eye for grammar and a deep respect for content style, voice, and tone
  • Ability to create, implement, and maintain content standards across an organization
  • Experience implementing policies, workflows, and strategies that help teams do their best work
  • Confidence working with cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, product designers, user researchers, engineers, legal, marketing)
  • Working knowledge of Figma
Experience and background

  • 7+ years of experience in UX Writing, Content Design, or equivalent
  • 2+ years managing content designers
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Writing, Communications, Design, or related field
