Director, Product Design

Remote Full time

Ibotta is looking for an experienced Director of Product Design to lead a team of designers & writers for our first, fast-growing B2B product offering. The Product Design team is involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next product innovation to tweaking pixels before launch. As a leader of the product design team, you will set the UX vision and strategic direction for an expanding portfolio of B2B products as part of the Ibotta Performance Network (IPN). You will be the champion of your team as you help empower them for success and develop them as employees and individuals. You will establish human-centered practices and maintain our high bar for design quality as we continue to invest in, and grow, our business-facing product line.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead, coach, develop, and motivate a team of talented product designers and UX writers

  • Create an innovative, inclusive product design culture that fosters empowerment, growth, and collaboration

  • Partner with design leadership to shape a collaborative, human-centered, and systems-based approach to solving problems for our users

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with researchers, product managers, and engineering, and sales leaders to guide the UX strategy from conception through launch

  • Apply the same rigor, standards, and thoughtfulness for designing B2B products that goes into building consumer-facing products

  • Provide thought-leadership for design and help evangelize a user-focused mindset across the company

  • Ensure design standards are developed, communicated, and consistently met

  • Enable high-quality, timely execution in a fast-paced, iterative, fluid environment

  • Recruit, hire, and retain exceptional talent

What we are looking for:

  • Approximately 5 years of experience leading UX projects 

  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of designers

  • Bachelor's degree in UX, Graphic, or Industrial Design; Psychology; HCI; Computer Programming; or related field required

  • B2B design and manager experience with a relentless focus on your users

  • A systems-based approach for solving problems and experience with design systems

  • Empathy for both user and team needs

  • Demonstrable ability to create, and lead a team in creating, beautiful and impactful design work

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 

  • Strong ability to provide clear design direction and constructive feedback 

  • Experience managing content design is a welcome plus

  • An ego-free embrace of debate and conviction that it’s better to be aligned than right

Additional Details:

This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Base compensation range: $125,000-$175,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
