About the role:

We're looking for a Content Designer 2 to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing the lives of immigrants and their families by offering the most reliable global financial services products. You'll report to the senior manager of content design within Remitly's product organization.

You'll design mobile and web products and experiences with a focus on language and user needs. You'll evaluate customer journeys; design in-product flows; improve information architecture; and finesse in-product language. You'll ensure that Remitly's product content is clear, meets customer needs, and is easy to localize. You'll also reflect Remitly's customer-friendly voice and tone in your content designs.

As a member of the product team, you'll help shape Remitly's customer experience, including new product offerings. This will involve building relationships with partners, including the product management, product design, UX research, brand, marketing, engineering, legal/compliance, and localization teams.

This is a hybrid role to support team collaboration. (You'll work from our office at least 50% of the time.) Our office is located in downtown Seattle, Washington.

You will:

  • Lead content design work for Remitly's diverse, international audience. Develop product flows and messaging frameworks. Pinpoint the just-right terminology to support both customer and business success.
  • Develop and support comprehensive content strategies that align with our mission to deliver pioneering lending and financial products.
  • Craft clear, engaging in-product content that simplifies complex financial concepts and promotes trust and customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management, Product Design, Brand, Marketing, and Engineering teams to create a cohesive customer experience across all platforms and touch points.
  • Use data, user research, and Voice of Customer feedback to inform content design decisions.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers and product designers on hypothesis creation, research planning, remote and in-person UX research sessions, and evaluation.
  • Partner with product managers and product designers on A/B experimentation to uncover content insights that help increase customer engagement and decrease calls to customer service.
  • Contribute to Remitly's design and content systems and advocate for accessibility.
  • Work with Remitly's compliance and legal teams to ensure content integrity and adherence to industry and international standards and regulations.
You have:

  • At least 3 years of content design or relevant UX writing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, user experience, human-computer interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • A UX content design portfolio that ideally includes end-to-end customer journeys, user interface copy, and user education. In-product, customer-facing experiences are preferable.
  • Experience designing and shipping end-to-end products with complex flows, multiple scenarios, and edge cases.
  • Familiarity with design tools, especially Figma.
  • Familiarity with strategic content design tools such as content audits, gap analyses, empathy maps, messaging frameworks, and voice-and-tone frameworks.
  • Experience simplifying and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences in a compelling way.
  • Experience working with compliance and legal teams during the content and product development and approval process.

Compensation details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $92,000-$115,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Compensation: Total compensation includes base salary plus quarterly and annual equity grants. Base salary range is $92,000-$115,000 USD.
