Senior Designer I
Remote, US Contract
I’m hiring a Senior Designer I to join my team for 3 months while a teammate is on parental leave. This role focuses on internal tools used to process health insurance claims on behalf of SimplePractice customers. You’ll solve complex information architecture challenges to support scale and efficiency, standardize and align terminology with healthcare industry standards, and deliver final designs for new internal-facing features. This is an excellent opportunity for a content designer looking to transition into a product design career.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product management, engineering, and operations stakeholders to design workflows that increase team efficiency, meet customer needs, and solve for health insurance complexity
- Run UX tests on your designs with internal users and beta customers
- Synthesize customer feedback and business needs to align on workflows that balance efficiency, trustworthiness, and accuracy
- Deliver designs for internal tools, with an emphasis on simple information architecture and clear terminology
- Design review for MVP communication tool currently being built
Additional responsibilities, depending on candidate skillset
- Content design consultation on customer-facing features in partnership with our Lead Product Designer
- High-fidelity designs for customer-facing surfaces impacted by internal workflow changes
Preferred qualifications
- A design portfolio that demonstrates your ability to solve complex, technical UX problems. Portfolios that showcase both product design and content design skillsets preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a product designer or content designer
- Experience collaborating with product squads using Figma
- Experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in the insurance space
- While not required, experience with visual design would be beneficial, especially in the context of a mature design system
Compensation: $60-80/hour
